Minneapolis, MN 2003

Designed in conjunction with Grebner Associates, this mixed-use building includes 3 floors of apartments, a community center, and offices for Hope Community.  Located at the corner of Portland & Franklin Avenues, it is the first phase of the Gateway renewal plan for the Phillips Neighborhood of Minneapolis.  During design an energy model was used to analyze the building envelope and to explore heating and cooling alternatives.  Several years after occupancy, gas and electricity consumption records were compared to the energy model estimates using actual weather data to analyze and diagnose building energy consumption trends.
